Baby roars like a T-rex and stomps on ants



Critiques are most welcome... unless you have an aversion to commenting on posts, like most seem to have :)



I stuffed up the accent on this one; the roar is the first lunge forward, so it should be paused for at least 4 frames. I think it can be fixed.

I'm starting to get the hang of doing shapes without detail. Frank showed me the light! He stood on the parapet of Babylon and read the ten commandments of animation principles that were engraved on them.

Hmm... I just had a cool idea for an SBIT t-shirt design...

  1. Hey Corey maybe there would be more texture in the animation if Baby stomped with one foot and then the other? It would be also more challenging to animate because it means getting the weight shift correct through the character's core. The core of a character is located in the region of the pelvis, just a bit above it.

    Otherwise look at the timing. Both stomps are timed quite equally. Possibly try a fast stomp and then a stomp with more of an anticipation hold at the top?

    Your animation output is just getting up to a speed where you can meet and maintain your production schedule goals.

  2. In animation we are working with 13 commandments. There are many more but 13 are enough to handle in the first 2 years.

    I agree that parakeets to tend to babble on.

  3. Working with shapes hopefully is faster, easier to follow your arcs, than working with more finished character drawings. You could almost make them even simpler. Try to find a baby design that can be drwn in less than 10 seconds every time.
